It’s the 35th Anniversary of the release of the greatest film of all time, Raiders Of The Lost Ark. So you KNOW we had to do something special, being we are the Harrison Ford show.
We have a commentary track for you to listen to while watching Raiders Of The Lost Ark (since Steven and George won’t give us one). Listen to this, find out where to line up with the movie, grab a beer and geek out with us.
When we say we cover all movies Harrison Ford has been in, we meant it. Nothing proves that more than this episode.
Can we make these two movies interesting enough to podcast about? Only one way to find out. One of these movies, Crossing Over and Extraordinary Measures, just might surprise you and could contain one of the more underrated performances of Harrison’s career.
We also get into some current Harrison Ford news (there’s plenty of Force Awakens stuff going on) and learn about some fan fiction that could end up being Indiana Jones 5.
Where does the blame lie for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom Crystal Skull? Was it George Lucas? Was it Steven Spielberg? We already know it wasn’t Harrison, so what the hell went wrong? And was it all bad? How close is Crystal Skull to being a good Indy film?
As we try to assign blame, we also compare the final cut of the film to one of the original versions script out there. Mainly the one by Frank Darabont called “Indiana Jones and the City Of The Gods“.
We begin with the best ‘Indiana Jones or Han Solo?’ debate ever on the Internets! Jason and Jeremy, from Radio Bastard podcast, joins us on this episode for said Han & Indy debates PLUS the greatest breakdown of Regarding Henry ever (because nobody has ever done it) – HEY! Did you know JJ Abrams wrote Regarding Henry?..yep. Will there be a Regarding Henry 2? yep… because we already wrote it.
Seriously, all kinds of awesome Harrison Ford inspired tangents throughout this. And maybe the best of all, after we Regard all of Henry we get into some great Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Indiana Jones 5 and Blade Runner 2, talk with Jeremy and Jason! (Make sure you check out their podcast Radio Bastard – Mikey says it wrong several times in the episode, it’s RADIO BASTARD!)
The 1980s of Harrison’s career (maybe the strongest decade of any actor ever) end with Indy being called “Junior” by Sean Connery in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Pretty damn good movie for Harrison and the world and we break it down.
We get it all in the one, River Phoenix works in a Harrison movie again, this time playing a young version of Indy instead of his son. Brody and Sallah return, Professor Jones is back, the hottest Indy Girl ever, Indy meets Hitler, more Germans, and that dude the drove a AT-AT on Hoth and told Darth Vader it was cool to come down to the planet now.
Once we get done with Last Crusade (sorry, it takes a while) we get through some recent Ford news including the Age Of Adoline trailer and some teaser trailer thingy with a R2-D2 Beach Ball and THE FREAKING MILLENNIUM FALCON!!
It’s pretty much nobody’s favorite of the Indiana Jones movies, but at least it’s better than Crystal Skull: Indiana Jones and the Temple Of Doom.
Our Temple episode finds us talking about what dark demons Lucas and Spielberg were facing during production, how Harrison Ford jacked up his back, where the hell did Dan Akroyd come from, and his ripping someone’s heart out a PG activity.
Also, Harrison is back on set for Episode VII and we go over some rumored plot points for Han Solo and Chewie.
All this…and fortune and glory, kid…fortune and glory.
